A safe and durable tile floor assembly for Copper Shopping Centre

Originally, the tile installation specs for this large shopping center in Quebec, Canada did not include movement joints.  Fortunately, the tile contractor recognized the potential for failure if movement joints were not used.

Schluter-DILEX-BT, a structural expansion joint profile that allows for absorption of three-dimensional movement, was installed throughout the covering.  In addition, Schluter-RENO-RAMP was used to create a gradual transition between the tiled surface, which had been installed over an existing tile layer, and a lower neighboring floor covering. 

Schluter-TREP was also installed on various stair edges within the shopping center to ensure safe, slip-resistant stairs.
