Tile floor and wall are well protected in Newtown Restaurant
Professional race car driver Jacques Villeneuve built a high-end restaurant called Newtown Restaurant on Crescent Street in downtown Montreal. The design of the restaurant called for two kitchens on top of one another with tiled floors.
Schluter-KERDI, a sheet-applied waterproofing membrane, was installed between the tiled floor and the substrate to ensure that any moisture from the upstairs kitchen, whether it be from a spill or appliance leak, did not effect the substrate and the kitchen below.
In addition, Schluter-ECK-E was installed on many of the outside wall corners in the kitchen. This stainless steel edging profile offers excellent protection for tile wall edges subject to high degrees of wear.
