Schluter^®-RONDEC-STEP

Schluter®-RONDEC-STEP is a finishing and edging profile for ceramic tile and dimension stone installations on countertops and stairs. The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile. The top of the profile features a symmetrically rounded edge with 1/4" (6 mm) radius, which matches the RONDEC profile, while the vertical leg of the profile hides the exposed edge of the subassembly. In addition, the profile effectively protects tiles in the edge area from mechanical and impact stresses. The integrated joint spacer establishes a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile.

RONDEC-STEP is suitable for residential applications, e.g., stairs not exposed to heavy traffic, and countertops. RONDEC-STEP is available in two different vertical leg lengths, 1-1/2" (39 mm) and 2-1/4" (57 mm), to cover the edge of the sub-assembly. The profile is selected according to the appropriate tile (H) and sub-assembly (A) thicknesses.

The profile is available in anodized aluminum with various finishes to allow for decorative design and interesting accents. Matching corners for the RONDEC-STEP are available.

El perfil Schluter® RONDEC-STEP no requiere mantenimiento ni cuidados especiales y es resistente al moho y a los hongos. Limpie regularmente el perfil con un producto de limpieza neutro. No utilice productos abrasivos para limpiar el aluminio anodizado.

1- Seleccione el perfil de acuerdo con el espesor y forma de la baldosa y al espesor de subensamblado. 

2. Con llana dentada aplicar mortero fino en la zona donde se va a colocar el perfil.

3- Presione el ala de fijación perforada del perfil en el mortero y alinee.

4. Aplique con llana más mortero de capa delgada sobre la pata de anclaje perforada para garantizar una cobertura total y soporte de los bordes de las losas.

5.Incrustar sólidamente las baldosas de modo que la superficie embaldosada quede al ras con la parte superior del perfil; el perfil no debe sobrepasar la superficie del azulejo, sino hasta aprox. 1/32" (1 mm) más bajo.

6. Set the tile to the integrated joint spacer, which ensures a uniform joint of 1/16" - 1/8" (1.5 - 3 mm).

7- Rellene completamente las juntas con lechada o material de fraguado.

8.Trabaje con materiales y herramientas que no rayen ni dañen superficies sensibles. Los materiales de fraguado deben retirarse inmediatamente, especialmente el aluminio.

Nota: hay disponibles esquinas a juego con RONDEC-STEP. Las esquinas se fijan con mortero de capa fina. Rellene los extremos del perfil con mortero de capa fina antes de insertar los accesorios.
