Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-LT/-LTS are prefabricated expanded polystyrene sloped trays with integrated KERDI waterproofing specifically designed to accept the KERDI-LINE linear drain. The trays are available in 39" x 39" (100 cm x 100 cm), 55" x 55" (140 cm x 140 cm), 48” x 48” (122 cm x 122 cm), 36” x 72” (91 cm x 183 cm), 38” x 76” (97 cm x 193 cm) and 36” x 55” (91 cm x 140 cm) sizes. The KERDI-SHOWER-LT/-LTS are available with center (-LT) and perimeter (-LTS) drain placements in ten configurations with reduced perimeter heights to aide in the installation of curbless showers.
1. Any leveling of the floor must be done prior to the installation of the shower tray. If necessary, cut the tray to size prior to application. The shower base can also be extended beyond the tray using dry-pack mortar, which is in turn covered with the KERDI membrane.
2. Cut the flat end of the KERDI-SHOWER-LT/-LTS tray to fit around the channel support. Apply Schluter SET™, Schluter ALL-SET™, Schluter FAST-SET™, or unmodified thin-set mortar to the substrate using a 1/4" x 3/8" (6 mm x 10 mm) square- or U-notched trowel. Slide the KERDI-SHOWER-LT/-LTS under the edge of the channel body flush with the surface of the channel support, making certain to solidly embed the tray in the mortar. Check the underside of the tray to ensure that full coverage is achieved.
Note: When KERDI-LINE is placed at an intermediate location (e.g., center of shower), it is recommended that the KERDI SHOWER-LT tray be cut by equal amounts from the ends to ensure a consistent height of the first course of tile. When KERDI-LINE is placed adjacent to a wall, cut the KERDI-SHOWER-LTS tray from the thicker end to ensure a flush transition at the drain.
