Schluter Expands Curbless Shower Solutions with KERDI-SHOWER-FRS

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y., September 1, 2026 — Schluter-Systems is pleased to announce the availability of KERDI-SHOWER-FRS, a floor recessing system designed to simplify the installation of curbless showers.

KERDI-SHOWER-FRS provides a practical solution for creating a recessed shower area without cutting or modifying structural floor joists. The system uses pre-engineered, galvanized steel brackets to create a stable support structure for the recessed subfloor assembly required for curbless shower installations.

Compatible with both dimensional lumber and engineered I-joist construction, KERDI-SHOWER-FRS accommodates joist spacing up to 19.2 inches o.c. and is available in two kits to accommodate showers of various sizes. Bracket kits are also available for larger or customized shower footprints.

By eliminating the need to add ledger boards, KERDI-SHOWER-FRS helps simplify curbless shower construction without structural modifications. The top-mounted design also reduces the likelihood of costly alterations to HVAC, electrical, and other building systems.

KERDI-SHOWER-FRS is designed for use with the Schluter waterproofing products, shower trays, and KERDI-DRAIN point drains as part of a complete Schluter shower system.
