Schluter®-Systems Canada Wins Project of the Year at TTMAC 2024 Hardsurface Awards

Schluter®-Systems is proud to announce its recognition at the 2024 Terrazzo Tile & Marble Association of Canada (TTMAC) Hardsurface Awards, winning two awards including the coveted Project of the Year for its contributions to The Well, a landmark mixed-use development in downtown Toronto. Schluter also won in the Manufactured Tile and Slab category for The Well.

The Well is a transformative urban space encompassing seven buildings, 1.1 million square feet of office space, and 500,000 square feet of high-end retail and residential units. This innovative complex promotes a lifestyle of work, wellness, and community living, seamlessly blending the vibrancy of urban life with luxurious amenities.

Innovative Solutions for Complex Challenges

Schluter’s mission for The Well was to deliver high-performance solutions that demonstrate the versatility and reliability of our products in a high-profile, multi-developer project. This ambitious development faced several challenges, including the need for seamless coordination among various developers, contractors, architects, and designers.

The Well project required several versatile and durable Schluter products for each of its seven buildings, including solutions for heated floors, waterproofing systems, and tiled showers. Schluter's extensive range of products was effectively implemented, featuring DITRA-HEAT floor warming in the 14-story boutique condominium for added comfort, over 9,000 square feet of KERDI waterproofing membrane, 90 KERDI-DRAIN point drains for optimal drainage in residential showers, and JOLLY profiles from the TRENDLINE series for the cohesive aesthetic of all tile edge trims. In retail spaces, Schluter profiles provided clean transitions and protected tile edges, ensuring durability and visual harmony throughout the development.
