Key points before placing installation

  • Never power a 120 Volt heating cable with a 240 Volt or 208 Volt power source.
  • Consult a qualified electrician or qualified person before ordering DITRA-HEAT heating cables to ensure you order the correct voltage for your installation.
  • Very important: Never CUT or modify the heating cable in any way. This would change the cable resistance, will cause damage to the cable, and could cause cable overheating.
  • Do not purchase a heating cable that is the same size as the area to be tiled ; you will be left with too much heating cable!
  • Previously unused cut sections of DITRA-HEAT membrane may be installed in other areas to minimize waste.
  • In the USA, approval from the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) is required prior to installation on a shower floor and/or bench.
