Schluter®-DESIGN-NICHE is a prefabricated, powder-coated aluminum shower niche that provides sleek, functional storage without the need for tile. This fully waterproof niche is designed for fast, hassle-free installation, making it an ideal solution for showers, bathrooms, and other wet areas. The adjustable frame allows for flush or reveal edge installation and accommodates tile thicknesses from 3 mm (1/8") to 55 mm (2-3/16").

All niche sizes include a waterproof KERDI-BAND frame to seal the seams, as well as screws and washers for fastening KERDI-BOARD-SN to stud framing.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-SNLT
KERDI-BOARD-SNLT is a prefabricated shower niche that features integrated LIPROTEC LED lighting. The niche includes a waterproof cable connection box at the top of the niche to ensure a code-compliant installation of electrical components in a wet area. The kit includes a profile and a LIPROTEC light strip that inserts directly into the profile and can be installed in either a center or rear position at the top of the niche.

My Three Favorite “Not from the Industry” Bathroom Upgrades

This is my twelfth year at Schluter Systems. I’m not “from the industry” … I’ve been in Marketing most of my career with a background in journalism, so pretty much as far removed from tile and construction as it gets! KERDI-LINE-VARIO: needs to be placed such that the opening in the center of the channel is directly above the flange connected to the drainage outlet.

Can I use a premixed thin-set mortar to install Schluter®-KERDI and tile in my shower?

No. Schluter®-Systems does not recommend the use of premixed thin-set mortars (mastics/adhesives) in any KERDI installation.
